Generously apply shaving cream or shaving oil to your face, holding the razor with the handle facing away from you. Use your free hand to stretch your facial skin to create as straight a surface as possible. Position the razor at an angle of about 30° and gently scrape the beard. Start with the grain, then go across, and finally against the grain.

During shaving, avoid rinsing the blade under running water. It is much better to use a pre-prepared lint-free towel, as moisture can damage the blade and make it harder for the razor to glide smoothly. After shaving, ensure the razor dries thoroughly. Use a strop for honing and sharpening the blade.
