Squalane is a saturated hydrocarbon of triterpene nature, obtained by hydrogenating squalene, a compound naturally present in the unsaponifiable fraction of many vegetable oils (such as olive oil). The removal of double bonds reduces susceptibility to oxidation and extends the product’s shelf life. This liquid and transparent oil has a natural affinity with the skin, as squalene, from which it is derived, is one of the main components of human sebum and the hydrolipidic film. It is a multifunctional product with excellent diffusion and absorption properties in the skin. It prevents skin dryness, enhances elasticity, and nourishes the skin. It leaves a light, silky, non-greasy texture.
