Keratin is a protein that naturally occurs in the skin, hair, and nails, serving as their primary building material. It is used in hair care products to restore structure, impart a healthy appearance, enhance shine, and maintain optimal moisture levels. In nail care, keratin helps restore nail plate structure, strengthen it, prevent breakage, and remove stains. Through the hydrolysis process, a product with increased digestibility is obtained.

Keratin application is recommended for damaged, fine, and delicate hair. By penetrating deep into the hair, it fills gaps in their structure and creates a protective colloidal layer on the hair surface. Additionally, hydrolyzed keratin intensively moisturizes hair and regulates its moisture level.

Keratin hydrolysate can be used as an additive in hair care products and shampoos. The recommended concentration in formulations is 5-50%. It is important to note that keratin hydrolysate is highly concentrated, so it should be used in moderation. As an addition to nutrients and shampoos, the product should not exceed 6% of the total volume of the cosmetic product.
