The Help4Skin Wound Healing Gel contains acidic carbomer, stabilized with carnosine—an essential peptide naturally found in the skin. For dry wounds, such as abrasions and surgical wounds, it provides an occlusive effect: it prevents evaporation and reduces fluid loss through the epidermis. Carnosine buffers acidic polymers and thus acts as an antioxidant. The carbomer absorbs excess fluid from moist, oozing wounds, while also cooling and soothing the area in contact with the bandage or dressing. It does not stick to the wound.

Immediately after a burn, cool the affected area under lukewarm running water for 20 minutes. This should be done as soon as possible, as the beneficial cooling effect on the burned area diminishes over time and completely disappears after 30 minutes. To prevent hypothermia, especially if a large area of the body is burned, it is not recommended to use cold water.

The application of Help4Skin Wound Healing should only be carried out after a proper assessment of the burn’s severity. Help4Skin Wound Healing can be used for superficial burns of the epidermis and/or dermis, which are typically characterized by swelling, skin redness, and blisters.
